P1 Visa

P1 Visa

This P1 visa is issued by United States for renowned foreign athletes and entertainers. The athletes of teams of players who wish to participate in any event in US. This visa allow the athletes to enter the US and entertainers to perform in US. The events that they are supposed to perform in should be a distinguished and recognized event.

  • The athlete or entertainer must have international recognition.
  • Visiting US should be for participating in individual events or competition.
  • Applicant must have US employer or agent sponsoring the trip.
  • The applicants must meet the health and character requirements.
  • The US employer or agent must file a Form I-129, Petition for Non-Immigrant Worker.
  • The applicants must provide the evidence of recognition or award.
  • The P1 visa allows the holder to participate in events and competition in US.
  • It is granted for period of the event and cannot be exceeded more than 1 year.
  • The individual athletes can be granted the visa for 5 years duration and the team visa is only for 1 year.
  • The international athletes with P1 visa status can apply for green card.
  • The spouse and dependent children can apply for P4 visa and stay in US with the P1 visa holder.
  • The spouse and children are entitled to study in US but not employment.
