The Canadian government for the benefit of students of Indian origin has started a new program called the Students Partners Program (SSP) In India. This program is applicable to student of Indian origin only. The program is an administrative step by the Canadian government in association with the Canadian visa offices in India and the Association of Canadian Community colleges (ACCC). The prospective students need not apply to the SSP, but in the respective colleges and if they meet the criteria they will be considered. The Student Partners Program involves close cooperative partnership and feedback from the participating colleges to ensure student compliance with the terms of their study permits. A declaration of consent must be signed by the student on the SPP checklist in order to be processed under this program. The students must submit supporting documents to felicitate the application process.

Process to Get the Visa (Student Partner Program In India)

  • Valid Passport as well as the copy of the Bio-Data.
  • Family Information Form and Student Questionnaire (There should be no gaps)
  • Passport size photograph.
  • Letter of acceptance from the college
  • Use of Representative form (5476)
  • ILETS test with a minimum of 6 bands overall
  • Copies of latest diploma/mark sheetst
  • Copy of receipts for payment provided by the SSP institution.
  • Proof of funds, the most preferred way is to obtain a special Guaranteed Investment Certificate (GIC) from an approved Canadian financial institution of CAD $10,000 to cover the first year living expenses in Canada or a receipt for the payment of tuition fee of first year and a copy of education loan from an Indian bank equivalent to $10,000 CAD.
  • Medical Certificate.
  • For minors (Under the age of 18 years) a proof of custodian is a must, also if the minor is travelling alone he should have a letter of authorization from both the parents.
  • In case the minor is travelling with only one of the parents, they should have a letter of authorization from the non accompanying parent submitted with the application.

Yes, the SSP program is a special initiative by the Canadian government for Indian nationals only.
