H1-B Visa

The H1B visa is a non-immigrant work permit visa. This visa is being given to foreign workers is being employed by US employer to come and work in US under specialty occupation. The visa is valid for maximum of 6 years. This visa cannot be applied by any person who wishes to work in US but has to be petitioned by the US employer. Some of the specialized occupations are:

The foreign worker should be at least a graduate.
The degree of the employee should match the specialized occupation and should also be experienced to handle it.

The visa holder can apply for green card before the expiry of the H1-B visa.
They can bring their spouse and children under the age of 21 to come and stay under the category of H4 visa.
H4 visa holder can study in US but is not eligible to work.
They can remain in the country as long as the H1B visa holder is there.
