Minster Kenny said and we quote “The Action Plan for Faster Family Reunification has been a success. By reducing the backlog through increased admissions, we have dramatically reduced wait times so that parents and grandparents no longer have to wait close to a decade to be reunited with their loved ones.”

According to a Canadian immigration, by the end of 2013 the backlog for parent and grandparent visa will be reduced by 50 percent and the waiting time reduced to half.

The approval rates of these visas have also increased up to 86 percent with over 1,000 Super Visas issued monthly. The Super Visa allows parents and grandparents of applicants to come in Canada for recreational purposes and to stay with their family for up to two years at a time. It is valid for up to 10 years. This kind of visa allows parents and grandparents to travel in Canada back and forth.

The simple and trouble-free application procedure for getting this visa makes the visa process simpler. To be eligible for The Super Visa, the applicant must provide evidence that the host child or grandchild meets a minimum income level.
